6 . 1 I n t e n d e d u s e . T h e e n g i n e l a t h e s and tool room lathes covered by this
s p e c i f i c a t i o n are intended for use in any machine shop for production operations
or tool room type operations where precision tolerances are required in
p r o d u c i n g w o r k o f a d i v e r s e n a t u r e . T h e lathes are suitable for heavy duty
boring, facing,
roughing and light finishing operations such as turning,
