l u b r i c a t i o n plate shall be permanently and securely attached to each machine.
Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the plate shall contain the following
information:
P o i n t s of lubricant application
Servicing interval
T y p e of lubricant
V i s c o s i t y Federal or military specification for each lubricant
S i z e and type of each lubricant filter (where applicable)

A nameplate shall be securely attached to each machine.

information listed below. If the machine is a special model,
the model
d e s i g n a t i o n shall include the model number of the basic standard machine and a
s u f f i x identified in the manufacturer's permanent records.

4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 R e s p o n s i b i l i t y f o r i n s p e c t i o n . U n l e s s otherwise
specified in the
c o n t r a c t or purchase order, t h e contractor is responsible for the performance
a s specified herein.

E x c e p t as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor
m a y use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the
i n s p e c t i o n requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government.
T h e Government reserves the right to perform any inspections set forth in the
specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and
s e r v i c e s conform to prescribed requirements.
4 . 1 . 1 R e s p o n s i b i l i t y for compliance
A l l items shall meet all requirements
o f sections 3 and 5. T h e i n s p e c t i o n : s e t f o r t h i n t h i s s p e c i f i c a t i o n s h a l l
b e c o m e a part of the contractor's overall inspection system or quality program.
T h e absence of any inspection requirements i n t h e s p e c i f i c a t i o n s h a l l n o t
relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or
supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements
o f the contract. S a m p l i n g inspection, a s part of manufacturing operations, is
a n acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, t h i s
